Scheduling Experiments

Schedule a test to launch and end at set times, what happens at launch time, and how to reschedule or cancel a scheduled test.

You don’t have to launch a test the moment it’s ready. Schedule it to go live at a set date and time — say, the start of a sale — and optionally to end on its own. Scheduling is available on every plan.

Scheduling a Draft

  1. Open the draft and go to the Variants step.
  2. Under When should it run?, choose Schedule instead of Manually.
  3. Pick a start date and, optionally, an end date. Set the Launch time and, if the test has an end, the End time.
  4. Click Launch Test.

The test becomes Scheduled and a toast confirms it: “Scheduled for <date> at <time>”. Nothing runs until the launch time.

From the Dashboard, the list of drafts has a Schedule button next to each one. It opens that draft’s Variants step with Schedule chosen and the date picker open.

Setting an End Date

An end date is optional. Turn on No end date to keep the test running until you end it yourself.

When a running test reaches its end time, Split Test Pro completes it with a final snapshot of its results — the same as clicking End test. Pausing a test removes its end date; set a new one when you need it.

What Happens at Launch Time

Split Test Pro checks for due tests every minute. When a scheduled test’s launch time arrives, it runs the same launch checks as Launch Test — an active subscription, the monthly session limit, your plan’s concurrent-test cap and a primary metric — and, if they pass, starts the test.

If a check fails, the test goes back to Draft with the reason attached, and nothing runs. The experiment’s owner gets an email titled “<name> didn’t launch as scheduled”: “A pre-launch check failed at the scheduled start time, so the experiment was moved back to your drafts. Nothing is running.” On the Experiments list the draft shows a clock flag, and on the Dashboard it reads “Reverted: <reason>”. Fix the problem and schedule it again.

Rescheduling and Cancelling

On a scheduled test, the ⋯ menu offers:

  • Reschedule — pick a new launch time or end date.
  • Cancel schedule — the test goes back to Draft.

On the Experiments list, a scheduled row’s ⋯ menu also has Cancel schedule, and selecting several rows offers Set as draft to cancel them together. Archiving a scheduled test cancels its schedule too.

A scheduled test can’t be edited. Cancel the schedule, make your changes, and schedule it again.

Where Scheduled Tests Appear

  • Experiments list — a Scheduled badge on the row, and the Upcoming card counts them.
  • Dashboard — the Scheduled experiments card.
  • Results — until launch, the test’s Results page shows No results yet.
